generative art

Generative art is the meditative practice of programming instructions for a computer to autonomously make something graphical, and subsequently forgetting where you are and what you are doing, ending up just staring at the process.

A highly-textured collage with purplish blue, warm red, and golden tones. Abstract digital artwork; a square white canvas with an image centered on it. The image is wholly black and white and partly has a gorgeous filmic grain. Taking up approximately half of the image on the left side, there seems to be a mostly unedited garden, with tall flowering plants and a tree above them. The edges of the image are wavey, though, and sometimes even spill off of the canvas. The bottom left corner is more of a blurry whirl, where parts of the image are almost sucked outside the canvas. The right side of the canvas appears to be filled by a nice old building, though it has been very distorted and brushed over. The lightly-colored terrace of the building is very sharply distorted at points and has lost most of it's original texture. At the bottom right is has even spilled onto the white canvas as an amorphous gray blob, and the white canvas has spilled onto it. The rest of the building is mostly dark with some lightly-colored accents, all of which have been brushed over.
